Sticky Rice Cooker

Rice is the most traditional food in many parts of Asia and the rest of the world. Rice cookers have come in handy for the fast moving working community. The rice cookers come in various quantities and the rates differ according to the quantity and size of the Sticky Rice Cooker. The Sticky Rice Cooker comes with an automatic timer that stops the operation of the rice cooker once the rice gets boiled and normally the rice will be kept warm inside the rice cooker for long periods of time. There will be a cup inside the rice cooker to pour the rice and normally a single cup of rice will cook around one and a half cups of cooked rice. Take the cup of rice and rinse the rice in water to remove the presence of any pesticides and herbicides as a safety measure. It is better to leave the rice in water for about 30 to 45 minutes and then filter the water out with the hands and the rice will remain in the bowl or cup. Experts and nutritionists comment that the rice loses all its nutrition and vitamins when cleaned or treated in water and hence rice should not be allowed to be in the water for more time and then it will become a big source of fat and calories and there will be no energy in these types of rice. Hence rice must be selected very carefully and treated with water to avoid food poisoning or in some retail outlets, rice which need not to be treated in water are sold.

Now add sufficient water to the rice and normally for some rice of adding 2 cups, 5 cups of water are needed and for ordinary rice, equal quantities of water are added in the bowl of the rice cooker. The quantity of water varies from rice to rice and depending upon the rice added the water must be added in the right proportions. The pot is then placed inside the rice cooker and covered. The switch is pressed on for the Sticky Rice Cooker and after certain minutes normally 10 to 15 minutes, the cooked rice is ready and one can set the option of boiling by specifying the degree levels. The switch will automatically get switched off after the cooking process is over and the rice will be warm inside the Sticky Rice Cooker. It is usually advised to take the rice after 15 minutes of cooking. This is usually recommended as the rice cooker gets cooled off and it will reduce the amount of rice sticking in the rice cooker but still there will certainly be some rice sticking in the sides of the rice cooker.
